Speaking at DanceNYC's "Arts and Cultural Workers for the New York Health Act" Town Hall

I will be speaking at DanceNYC's "Arts and Cultural Workers for the New York Health Act" Town Hall on 9 April 2021 @ 6PM in support of The New York Health Act, New York’s state-level version of Medicare For All.

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the fragility of the healthcare system and the lack of a safety net for most arts workers. The New York Health Act, this state’s version of Medicare for All driven by single-payer healthcare would measurably improve the lives of this group of workers more than nearly any other policy change. Many arts workers have gained a new interest in political organizing and activism and Dance Artists’ National Collective, in partnership with Dance/NYC, Abrons Arts Center, and League of Independent Theater is holding a town hall for arts and dance workers to learn more about the NYHA in conversation with supportive elected officials and health care activists in order to unite the field to take action in support of a fair and equitable health care system in New York state. If you are arts and cultural worker you can share your healthcare story here. Follow the campaign with the hashtag: #PassNYHealth.
